One of the two suspects in the crimes of robbery, kidnapping and theft that occurred in the municipality of Penamacore will be awaiting trial in pre-trial detention, while the other is required to remain at home.
On Tuesday, the Guards Judicial Police issued a statement announcing the arrest and specifying that the detainees are a man and a woman, aged 31 and 37.
The Ministry of State (MP) of Castelo Branco published a note on its official website on Monday revealing the enforcement measures.
“The two detainees were brought on February 28, 2023 for the first judicial interrogation, as they were charged with two aggravated crimes, one aggravated kidnapping crime, five aggravated crimes, two of them in the form of an attempt constituting simple theft,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
According to the information, among the victims are two elderly people who were abducted from their own home on January 15, 2023.
The investigation continues under the leadership of the State Ministry of Castelo Branco, with investigative actions carried out by the judicial police (PO) through the Criminal Investigation Department of the Guard.
