A Chinese citizen has been detained in Luanda, accused of various crimes, including human trafficking, with the involvement of compatriots in prostitution in Angola, according to the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC).
According to a press release from the SIC de Angola, the 51-year-old Chinese citizen was arrested on the 3rd of this month at the Casino-KTV Hotel located in the municipality of Viana, where he was a manager and resident.
The accused will commit the crimes of crime, human trafficking and pimping, stressing in a note that after the investigation, his wife, also a Chinese citizen, aged 52, who allegedly assisted him in seducing victims to practice prostitution.
“It should be noted that the detention of this citizen is the result of a thorough operational and investigative work that ended in red-handed detention, after a thorough search, the presence of eight citizens of Chinese nationality, aged 31 to 44 years old,” the note says.
Through its investigations, the SIC found that the citizens were hired by the defendants while they were in China for the purpose of signing employment contracts in Angola that did not mention the type of work.
In Angola, according to SIC, the women were housed in the Casino-KTV hotel and their passports were threatened under threat under the pretext of legalizing their migration status.
“Which is not true, because while waiting they were locked in hotel rooms and forced to have sex in exchange for monetary values, receiving 500,000 kwanza (931 euros) per month as a reward,” the statement said.
