A total of 11,000 servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be trained under the European Union (EU) Military Support Mission by the end of March, the Minister of National Defense said on Wednesday.
At the end of an informal meeting of European Union (EU) defense ministers organized by the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council, Helena Carreiras announced that by the end of March, 11,000 Ukrainian soldiers will be trained at headquarters in Poland and Germany.
By the end of the year, the minister added, a total of 30,000 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be trained as part of this mission.
In the morning, the Minister of Defense said that the three Leopard 02 A6 tanks that Portugal will send to Ukraine are already in Germany, are in working condition and are ready to go to the territory of Ukraine.
The shipment depended on the assessment of the German manufacturer, and now these three combat vehicles will join 18 German tanks, which will arrive in Ukraine by the end of the month.
