In Mexico found a girl who disappeared almost five years ago after being kidnapped from a mall in the United States.
Eight-year-old Aranza Maria Ochoa Lopez was abducted by her biological mother Esmeralda Lopez in 2018 during a supervised visit. They were at a mall in Vancouver, a city in the US state of Washington.
The girl was found in Michoacán, Mexico last February and has now been returned to the US. Authorities have yet to release details about the girl’s return or how she was found.
According to the Mirror, Aranza’s biological mother was arrested in September 2019 in Puebla, Mexico, but the search for the girl continued. In 2021, Esmeralda pleaded guilty to kidnapping, robbery and prison tampering.
The investigation into Aranza’s kidnapping involved the Vancouver police, the FBI, and Mexican law enforcement.
