PSP has detained a 94-year-old man who set fire to a house after attacking an 84-year-old woman from whom he had been separated for more than a decade, but with whom he lived together.
A woman was hit on the head with a bench at 4 am this Sunday in Pareda, Cascais. When he went to the authorities to report what had happened, the man thought he had killed the woman.
The woman, who became lifeless after the attack, was saved thanks to the quick intervention of the PSP, who, leaving the scene, took the elderly woman out of the house. When firefighters arrived, the victim was unconscious, but his condition was reversed.
An elderly woman with a deep blow to the head and second-degree burns was taken to the Cascais hospital, her life is not in danger.
The couple have been separated for more than ten years, but they live in the same place – an elderly man lives in the annex.
The fire was extinguished, damaging several rooms in the house, which became uninhabitable.
