A Coimbra court has sentenced 23-year-old citizen Luz to a suspended prison term of three years and six months for three child pornography offenses, prosecutors said on Tuesday.
In a note posted on its website, the Coimbra regional prosecutor said the 23-year-old was convicted of three aggravated child pornography offenses, one each to three years and six months in prison with a suspended sentence. for five years on probation.
“Furthermore, the court found it proven that in 2019 in the municipality of Luz the defendant shared through social networks photographs and videos containing images of explicit sexual acts exposing children under the age of 14,” the note reads.
The Court of Coimbra “considered that the digital evidence contained in the process was lawfully obtained”, realizing that the ruling of the Constitutional Court on metadata in the context of the crime of juvenile pornography “did not affect the evidence collected”.
The decision was made on Friday.
During the investigation phase, the process was managed by the Department of Investigations and Criminal Affairs of the District of Coimbra, with the assistance of the Directorate of the Center for Judicial Justice.
