Iranian police have detained a journalist who was interviewing Mahsa Amini’s father.

This Sunday, Iranian security forces detained a journalist who was helping to cover the Mahsa Amini case. The arrest took place after an interview given by the journalist to the father of the murdered girl.

Nazila Marufyan, a journalist from Amini’s hometown of Sakez in Kurdistan, was detained at a family member’s home in Tehran and then transferred to Evin prison. A journalist working for the Ruidad24 website published an interview with Mahsa’s father, Amjad, on October 19, according to information released by the national press this Friday.

The journalist published a link on social media with a link to the article and in the same publication wrote several ironic phrases, namely that she did not intend to commit suicide and guarantees that she does not have concomitant diseases, referring to the excuses of the vice police about the alleged cause of death of Mahsa Amini.

In an interview, the father of the murdered girl assured that his daughter had no health problems.

The young journalist reported that for several days she was unable to share the article about the interview she gave to Mahsa’s father and that the family was threatened. However, according to information released by the national press, the interview has already been removed from the Internet.

During the wave of protests in Iran, about 54 journalists have already been arrested, of which only 12 have been released on bail. To date, 160 people have died in demonstrations.

After the death of Mahsa Amini, several demonstrations took place in Iran, which continue for about seven weeks (they began on September 16). Despite numerous warnings from the authorities, protesters continue to protest, spreading to universities, apartment buildings and main streets across the country.
