Donald Trump made a Facebook post this Friday after two years without any intervention on the social network. “I’m back!” — wrote the former President of the United States of America.
The post was accompanied by a 12-second video of the 2016 election victory speech. In the same recording, an American can be heard saying, “Sorry to keep you waiting.” Given the content, it is believed that the intent behind the message is to strengthen and energize the President’s candidacy for a return to the White House.
It should be remembered that Trump was banned from using this platform in January 2021 after militants violently invaded the Capitol during the defeat by Joe Biden, the current US president. META considered that a politician could be dangerous by certain publications and lead to new riots and conflicts in the country. In addition to Facebook, Donald Trump has also been temporarily kicked out of Twitter and Instagram.
On January 25, the owner of META, which owns Facebook and Instagram, announced that he would restore Trump’s access to his accounts, subject to “increased penalties” if he violated the rules of proper functioning, as in the past.
