A group of volunteer firefighters from Belas in the municipality of Sintra helped transport the boy to his mother’s house on Saturday evening.
An emergency call was made at 22:00 in Bairro da Fonteireira. The 24-year-old woman needed urgent help, and the corporation mobilized an ambulance with a team of two firefighters.
However, there was no time to transport the mother to the hospital. “The delivery was supposed to take place at the parents’ house,” he said. cm Nuno Paulino, second in command of the Belas fire department, who was one of the midwives.
Little Thiago and his mother, both in good health, were taken by order of INEM to the Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon.
“The training we receive allows us to respond to such situations,” Nuno Paulino concluded.
