The Judicial Police (PJ) detained a 52-year-old man suspected of stabbing another on Monday in Vila Nova de Milfontes, in the municipality of Odemira (Beja), causing serious injuries that led to his hospitalization.
The statement from the joint venture indicated that the attempted murder took place on Monday at the victim’s home after an argument “for useless reasons.”
The suspect stabbed the victim with a penknife in the abdomen, “inflicting injury with protrusion of the intestines,” and then fled, “without helping and without helping the victim,” the judicial police said. . . .
He added that due to the severity of the injuries, the victim underwent emergency surgery and subsequent hospitalization.
During a police investigation, the suspect was eventually located with the assistance of Vila Nova de Milfontes’ GNR and arrested.
Contacting the Lusa agency, a PJ source said the alleged aggressor was located and detained around 07:30 this Tuesday in the Vila Nova de Milfontes area.
The man will be present at the first judicial interrogation about the use of coercive measures.
