Almada Public Security Police detained four men at the crime scene for offenses related to drug trafficking and possession of prohibited weapons, as part of a months-long investigation, it was announced this Wednesday.
The PSP statement states that the arrests are the result of an operation codenamed “LAGOSTA” carried out over the past few months by the Almada Criminal Investigation Unit, led by the Almada Prosecutor’s Office, in the Setúbal region.
The investigation, which began as a result of riots between people and led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of 2,154 doses of hashish, a 7.65 mm pistol, 27 7.65 mm cartridges and about 1,000 euros, ended with this operation. in two moments.
On November 24, a house search warrant was executed, as a result of which two men aged 21 and 25 were detained, 644 doses of hashish, 6.35 mm firearms, 6 cartridges of 6.35 mm caliber, almost 1,500 euros and various materials were seized . used in the preparation of drugs for sale.
Two men were present at the first judicial interrogation, and one of the detainees was placed in pre-trial detention.
Four months later, last Tuesday, a house search warrant was executed, as a result of which two men aged 21 and 39 were detained, 184 doses of hashish, 29 doses of cocaine, a razor, 1 cartridge of 12 caliber and 1397 euros were seized.
These detainees will be present this Wednesday in the court of Almada for the application of coercive measures.
“With the help of this investigation, the Public Security Police believes that they succeeded in putting an end to the activities of this group that operated in the city of Almada, devoting themselves to the repeated practice of selling drugs directly to the consumer, doing it in their own way. life,” the PSP said in a statement.
