Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday that Moscow and Beijing are not entering into any military alliance.
The Russian leader assured that the military actions of the two countries are transparent. Reuters. “We are not creating a military alliance with China. There are no secrets, everything is transparent,” he said.
Putin accused the US and NATO of trying to build a military “axis” similar to that created by Germany, Italy and Japan in World War II. “Western analysts are talking about the possibility of the “West” creating a new axis (…), similar to the fascist axis of 1930,” Putin fired.
The statements were made a few days after the meeting between Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin in Moscow. At the meetings, Xi invited his Russian counterpart to visit China this year.
