Ukraine on Sunday called for an urgent convening of a UN Security Council meeting and called for an end to Russia’s “nuclear blackmail” after the Kremlin announced it was stationing nuclear weapons in Belarus.
“Ukraine looks forward to effective action to combat the Kremlin’s nuclear blackmail by the UK, China, the US and France,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“We demand the immediate convening of an extraordinary meeting of the UN Security Council for this,” Ukrainian diplomats added in a statement, asking the G7 (the group of seven most developed economies) and the European Union to put pressure on Belarus, threatening “serious consequences” if you accept the Russian imposition .
