Judicial Police Director Luis Neves ruled out a terrorist attack on the Ismaelita Center in Lisbon on Tuesday.
Luis Neves admits that a “psychotic breakdown” may have been behind the attack, which killed two women. The police leader declined to talk about the cryptic phone call that sparked the massacre because it was “intimate”.
Abdul Bashir received a phone call before Mariana and Farana were killed. Another teacher, Centro Ismaelita in Lisbon, was also seriously injured in the attack.
At a press conference, the director said that the aggressor was going to go to Germany with three children. The 28-year-old man lived in Odivelas with his four, seven and nine year old children after his wife died in a refugee camp in Greece.
According to Luis Neves, the aggressor Abdul Bashir will not be released in less than 10 days.
