The Angolan Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) said on Wednesday that two men believed to be part of a criminal network were caught red-handed in Luanda with 18 alleged diamonds and three safes, one of which contained 2,400 counterfeit dollars.
According to the SIC, both men were arrested in the Ingombotash urban district, in the center of the Angolan capital, after “tough investigations” by the Central Directorate for Combating Organized Crime.
The SIC also detained a 43-year-old electrician at Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport in Luanda for dealing cocaine hidden in a rectangular backpack as passengers from Brazil were disembarking.
The three suspects will be publicly introduced this Wednesday in the general direction of the SIC.
