On the 2nd, the Air Force transported a 19-year-old French woman 590 km west of Terceira. The 31st crew of the 751st Puma Squadron rescued a 45-year-old surfer from Ursa Beach in Sintra.
The Air Force has a permanent warning device. It has a designated maritime search and rescue area of about 5.8 million km², equivalent to more than half of the European territory.
