Carlos Alves, 38, a firefighter for the Colares Corporation, Sintra, was missing for 12 hours. He was found early this Thursday at 4 am, sleeping in a car in the city of Alentejo, where the firefighter has a family. It was discovered by Sintra GNR, who traced the cell phone. He is stable and has no injuries.
The search began an hour and a half after the disappearance was reported. Pedro Louro, commander of the Colares Volunteer Fire Station, highlights the efforts made by all operatives on the ground since the alarm was raised. He does not hide the satisfaction that Carlos Alves is safe and sound, remembering that the firefighter has worked for the corporation for more than ten years. From now on, according to him, he will have all the necessary support. This is taking into account the state of mind a few hours before the disappearance, which caused great concern.
A situation alert was issued at 18:00 Thursday. The search involved 60 firefighters from the municipalities of Sintra and Cascais, as well as GNR, who later located Carlos Alves by tracing his mobile phone in Corticadas do Lavre, Montemor o Novo.
On its Facebook page, the Colares corporation reports this, noting that now it is time for the competent authorities to take up this matter.
