The Judicial Police (PJ) have detained a 51-year-old man on suspicion of sexually seducing and abusing his niece and classmate in the Évora area, a police source said today.
The SP statement stated that she detained a suspect in child sexual abuse, aggravated sexual abuse of minors, aggravated minor pornography and seduction of minors for sexual purposes.
The alleged crimes committed in Comarca Évora, according to the SP, were committed against two girls aged 13 and 14.
A source in the judicial police who contacted Lusa explained that the detainee was the uncle of one of the girls with whom he cohabited.
The GPO said in a statement that the girls are classmates and one of them is in a relationship of acquaintance and cohabitation with the suspect.
According to the Judicial Police, the alleged crimes took place within the last two months.
Initially, the suspect made “approaches through social media, with sexual conversations and the exchange of pornographic photos, and then made physical contact,” he said.
The man was detained by the Évora SP Local Criminal Investigation Division (ULIC) under an arrest warrant issued by the 2nd Division of the Investigation and Criminal Affairs Department (DIAP) of the Évora Ministry of State.
Present at the first judicial interrogation, he was subjected to the most severe measure of restraint – pre-trial detention.
