According to Diana Pereira, of the 12 patients, “three died, two were hospitalized for interim care, the rest had malpractice injuries ranging from accidental castration, loss of kidneys, or having to undergo a colostomy for the rest of their lives. “One of the patients spent a week with compresses on his stomach.”
The administration of the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário do Algarve has already initiated an urgent internal investigation process.
