“Today I’m crazy.” These were words spoken by a 17-year-old teenager hours before he shot Diogo Pereira in the head and shot a friend of the 25-year-old victim in the chest.
Diogo and his friend went to the bathroom of the establishment, and three minutes later Claudio also went there. Without any discussion or conflict, just a minute later, Claudio had the gun pointed at Diogo’s head as Diogo turned his back on him, unaware of his arrival. Shot for treason. The young man died two days later at the São João hospital in Porto. A friend watched everything and was in shock. At that moment, Claudio fired again, hitting him in the chest and running away.
On March 31 of this year, Claudio broke his silence in court by claiming he drank a lot of alcohol and inhaled “several” nitrous oxide canisters. “I don’t remember anything,” said the young man.
“I just remember going to Prax and not taking any weapons with me,” he added.
Diogo Pereira’s family has demanded compensation of 600,000 euros to guarantee the future of Diogo’s son, who is currently accompanied by a psychologist.
Claudio Pereira was also ordered to pay compensation in the amount of 430 thousand euros to the companion and son of the deceased.
