The Lisbon PSP Metropolitan Command detained ten youths between the ages of 18 and 20 in a “large scale” operation. The mega-operation began at 5:30 am this Wednesday to “put an end to the criminal activities” of suspected robberies with knives in several municipalities of Lisbon.
The PSP issued 12 search warrants for homes and several arrest warrants. The detainees are suspected of kidnapping and robbing young people near schools and on public transport, especially in Oeiras, where they live.
The detainees did not resist, most of them already had a criminal record.
The arrested young people will, in principle, be present this Thursday at the Court of Cascais.
