On Saturday afternoon, a 57-year-old man died from being hit by a tree he was chopping, in Britelo, Sobreposta, Braga.
The accident happened at about 4:15 pm in a wooded area not far from the house where he lived. Rescue teams were immediately called, but they could no longer save Domingos Lopez.
He suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a large tree and the body was removed in the late afternoon. Several family members immediately rushed to the spot. This man was a driver for Transportes Urbanos de Braga and was well known in the region.
Sapadores de Braga, Cruz Vermelha, INEM, as well as members of the GNR were in the area of the accident.
