A 30-year-old man who was in an induced coma died in a house bombing this Saturday in Fafa. Rui Filipe Leitao he suffered burns over 80% of his body and was admitted to the São João hospital in Porto.
A powerful explosion occurred at dawn in the family home where the couple and their son live, on Rua da Viña. The cause of the accident was a gas leak.
It was not only the house where the explosion occurred that was damaged. Nearby houses were also damaged, four houses were left homeless.
“I woke up from the fact that the house was shaking, from a roar that I can’t even describe, I thought that no one got out of there alive,” said José Nogueira, one of the residents of the street, recalling the tragedy.
