The Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE) has arrested three people for profiteering in selling tickets to a Coldplay concert in the municipalities of Lisbon and Casacais.
According to the ASAE statement, two concert tickets were seized in Cascais, which were bought at a price of 90 euros each, but which were “advertised on social networks at a price of 200 euros each.” Thus, the promotion of two tickets added an estimated cost of 220 euros.
Lisbon also seized two tickets “which were sold at a price of 270 euros but had a face value of 85 euros each,” the ASAE said. In total, the estimated amount was 100 euros.
As a result of the audit, two criminal cases were initiated, one of which was temporarily suspended with a payment of 200 euros.
The ASAE is warning consumers to avoid buying tickets above the official price.
Coldplay will perform at the Municipal Stadium of Coimbra on 18, 20 and 21 May.
