Custódia Maria Inácia, owner of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Faro, turned 110 this Wednesday. The holiday of an elderly woman, affectionately referred to at home as “grandmother”, brought together four generations of the family and took place in the presence of an accordionist.
“It is a privilege to reach such a long age and still be able to share some memories with her clear mind,” said her granddaughter Patricia Martins. Maria Louise Reves, also a home user, described her friend Custodia as “very sweet and very expensive.”
Kustodiya was born in the municipality of Odemira and worked all her life in the village, and at home she worked as a maid. She has been living in this house since 2018, where she is referred to as “Grandma”. “I think that longevity is due to the time spent in the countryside, in the Alentejo, which gave him this hardness, this strength,” said granddaughter Patricia.
