The 39-year-old man, already known to the Rio de Janeiro police for previous crimes and having committed a new robbery disguised as a cow, did very badly in an attempt to steal without being identified. While trying to steal a backpack from a young woman in Copacabana, the most touristic area of this Brazilian city, the attacker was stopped by popular people, attacked and eventually arrested.
The attacker made the mistake of choosing to commit the crime last Friday night, Avenida Princess Isabel, one of the most important and busiest arteries of the famous and elegant district in the southern part of the capital Rio de Janeiro. When, already in front of many curious people because of his revealing costume, he tried to remove the backpack that was carried on the back by a young woman walking calmly along the artery, the attacker was surrounded by people who had escaped the robbery.
Under the influence of passers-by, the clumsy assailant could not escape, and, even worse, they began to attack him.
Arrested red-handed for the fifth time in recent times, he was taken to the district police station, framed and imprisoned. But first, agents had to take him to the emergency room (UPA), where he was treated for the many injuries he sustained.
