On Saturday evening, after visiting the Food Bank Against Hunger (BA) in Alcantara, Lisbon, the President of the Republic touched upon diplomatic relations with China in the current world situation.
Highlighting Portugal’s alignment with NATO and the European Union’s security positions, Marcelo Rebelo de Souza spoke of “countries that have a more distant position, but are no less concerned about the situation in Ukraine, as in the case of Brazil.” from China”.

At the end of his three-day visit to the People’s Republic of China, at a press conference today, he said that he was “very pleased” with the way everything went and stressed the growth to the “maximum degree of political relations.”
The head of state then dwelled on a memorandum of understanding establishing a new level of bilateral political relations: “The highest possible degree of political relations has been achieved at the level of the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, political partners in a dialogue that goes beyond a mere strategic partnership.”
