Police authorities have detained a man suspected of complicity in an attempted murder with a firearm that occurred during a January 8 reckoning in Lagos, Faro, the Judicial Police (PJ) said on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old detainee, also charged with possession of illegal weapons, is suspected of being involved in shooting two people who hit one of them during a meeting to buy drugs at an isolated location in the Algarve municipality. explained PJ in a statement.
The joint venture indicated that this crime was committed “in material co-authorship with another person”, who “was already arrested on March 29”.
The arrest, announced on Tuesday, was based on an arrest warrant issued by the Lagos State Department, which was “payback” in origin, the SP acquitted.
“After a preliminary agreement on the place and time, the victims went to a secluded place in the Lagos area in order to purchase a drug,” the joint venture said.
When he was already at the scene, “one of the detainees, armed with a shotgun, fired at the car in which they were moving, wounding one of them in the torso, arm and face, without causing his death by pure chance,” IP added.
The victim was seriously injured but was able to “quickly leave the scene while driving” and reach a hospital department for treatment, the court added.
The detainee by profession “bartender” will be taken to the investigating court for the first judicial interrogation and application of coercive measures against him.
