On Tuesday, a Barcelona court judge in Spain announced the decision to leave football player Dani Alves in custody without bail. Thus, the player will remain in prison after being accused of raping a young woman of 23 in the bathroom of the Sutton nightclub in the early morning of December 31, 2022.
According to the newspaper Vanguardthe judge ignored a plea for release filed 15 days ago by the Brazilian’s lawyer, who submitted a 200-page report accompanied by a video in which he compared the testimony of the victim and his companions with images from nightclub security cameras.
The footage shows that the athlete was not in the bathroom when the alleged victim entered. Video captured by security cameras shows the white sneakers and T-shirt the player appeared in that day at the entrance to the bathroom, where the two can be seen exchanging eye contact, a thesis always defended by the alleged victim, who claimed to have re-entered to the premises at the urging of Dani Alves.
Recently, the football player admitted that he had sex with a girl, but assured that everything happened by mutual consent.
