As a result of the actions of ASAE inspectors for non-compliance with tobacco laws, 418 fines were imposed last year in the amount of 506 thousand euros. Since 2018, there have been 2189 fines in total, which in total amounted to five million euros.
This was stated by the Inspector General of the Office of Food and Economic Security Pedro Portugal Gaspar. cm that ASAE “cannot be considered in terms of income, but is an activity that affects those who violate the rules, with the initiation of proceedings and the imposition of fines.”
