A house in the Areya district of Cascais, where a family of Pakistani origin lives, was robbed by unidentified assailants early Saturday morning.
Police sources said cm that the alarm about the crime was filed at 01:00, when an alarm went off at the security company.
An as yet unidentified group of men broke into the house while the owners were away.
They robbed several divisions and stole four Rolex watches with an estimated value of 20,000 euros. A large amount of cash was also stolen.
The gang also took a safe belonging to the family, which allegedly contained a “pen” with access codes for bitcoin (virtual currency) applications. The cost of this investment is also yet to be precisely determined, but could be in the hundreds of thousands of euros.
PSP Cascais only arrived on the scene minutes after the crime and are already investigating.
The Lisbon command of the PSP has officially confirmed the crime.
