A man threatened police after he was told he would have to pay to use the toilet at a train station.

The 33-year-old man was arrested last Friday for threatening and violent behavior after police warned him that he could not use the toilets at Lisbon’s Cais do Sodre station without paying the appropriate fee.

According to the PSP report, police patrolling the train station were alerted by a restroom employee that a man had entered without paying. When they arrived at the scene, they were insulted and threatened.

“Due to this behavior, the suspect was warned several times to stop such behavior, not complying with police orders, and continuing to be threatening and abusive towards them,” the report said.

To prevent the situation from worsening and the man being attacked, PSP agents handcuffed him and arrested him.

For what CM It was determined that while on police premises, the suspect continued to behave in a refusing, aggressive and hostile manner towards the police, hurling insults at the police on several occasions.

The detainee was notified of appearing on Monday at the Lisbon District Court for Minor Crimes. He is accused of committing the crime of resisting, insulting and coercing a law enforcement officer.
