Leiria’s PSP has detained five people and seized two firearms as part of its investigation into the alleged perpetrators of an attack on three men outside a nightclub on New Year’s Eve.
Following domestic and non-domestic searches that continued from 7am on Wednesday in the areas of Coimbra and Vila Real as part of Operation Urano, the PSP reports that five people were arrested and two firearms with various ammunition were confiscated. ammunition, a wooden club, a butterfly knife, cocaine and various items of clothing.
Three people were found accused in the case.
The ten people targeted live in the municipalities of Coimbra, Penacova and Vila Real and are accused of robbery and crimes against physical integrity.
The goal of the investigation is to bring the assailants to justice and to recover the suspects’ items and firearms used in the commission of the crime.
