Prices for Grupo Wagner goods soar after attempted uprising

Internet prices for items bearing the Wagner group’s symbols – a skull on a black background and a red circle – have skyrocketed following an attempted uprising by a mercenary group.

According to the agency Reuterson the website of Wildberries, the leader in online trading in Russia, the price of a patch (an embroidered emblem for putting on clothes) has risen from 294 rubles (about 3 euros), per week from June 18 to 25, to 525 rubles (about 5.50 euros), per week from the 25th to the 29th.

The price of a T-shirt depicting a Wagner violin fighter has increased from 1,236 rubles (about 13 euros) to 1,650 rubles (about 17.20 euros).

Products with a link to the group also received more stars from buyers, and the number of positive reviews and comments on products also increased.

According to the agency Reutersthe customer who bought the flag commented on the site: “The Wagner Group is the best. Good luck to you. The flag is great.”

Remember that the Wagner group, which fought in the Ukraine, started an uprising last Saturday, which was eventually interrupted. A group led by Yevgeny Prigozhin staged a “march of justice” and stormed the Russian city of Rostov. The military column was heading for Moscow, but the march ended before reaching the capital.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Tuesday that he had persuaded Yevgeny Prigozhin to put an end to the Wagner uprising.

In a deal brokered by the Belarusian president, Prigozhin gave up his attempted mutiny in exchange for safe passage into exile in Belarus. His people were also pardoned, given the option to join Prigozhin in Belarus, integrate into Russian forces, or return home.
