More than 20 people, including 11 children, have gone missing in Russia after riding a rubber boat down the Usva River in the Perm Territory, authorities said on Tuesday.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations indicated that 22 people engaged in “rafting” – rafting down the river in rubber boats – were missing, and expressed regret that the group did not pass the necessary registration.
“Everything is being clarified and a search is being carried out in parallel,” the ministry said.
Local authorities found out that a group of tourists decided to go down the Usva River, landing in the village of Srednyaya, on July 4, with a route length of 175 kilometers.
