Unrequited sergeant out of jealousy killed a colleague at an army party in Brazil

Unrequited passion provoked an intense firefight that ended with two soldiers killed and three wounded during a People’s Saints party hosted by the army in the Brazilian city of Uberlandia, in the interior of Minas Gerais. The author of the shots, 32-year-old Sgt. Isaké Frederico Silva Ferreira, fired at least 12 shots and stopped firing only after he was shot dead by a criminal police officer who went to a party with his family.

The party, hosted by the Army’s 36th Mechanized Infantry Battalion based in the city of Überlandia, commemorated the Folk Saints, albeit belatedly, and brought about 500 military personnel, family members and guests to the Grémio Recreativo de sergeants and non-commissioned officers. Just as the performance of the traditional folk dance group “Forrozarte”, one of the highlights of the party, began, the tragedy began, causing panic among the public, who began to scream and run everywhere when they heard the first shots.

Isaké, who, according to witnesses, was in love with 26-year-old fellow nurse sergeant Stephanie da Silva Magalhães, but unrequited, as at the beginning of the party he was upset by the fact that the woman he said he loved had arrived to the scene accompanied by her boyfriend. , another soldier from the same battalion, with whom he kept in touch during the year. Suddenly, when the presentation of the so-called “Quadrilhas de S. João” began, Isak wielded his powerful weapon and shot the boyfriend of the woman who loved him so much and did not accept him, and who fell to the ground with serious injuries. .

The sergeant then ran up to the woman he said he loved and shot her straight in the head. Even when Stephanie was already lying and dead, Isak continued to shoot into her body, and it was at this time that the crime police officer, who was off duty, but had a gun with him, fired a single shot at him and killed him, preventing him from hitting other people.

In addition to Stephanie’s boyfriend, who was taken to the hospital in a very serious condition, Isake shot and killed at least two other soldiers, although not as seriously, who were also hospitalized in Uberlandia. The criminal agent, who did not allow the tragedy to take on even greater proportions, was heard by the police and released because he acted legally in defense of third parties, and two investigations were opened, one by the army and the other by the judicial police.
