A 51-year-old man died on Tuesday after the car he was driving was driving on National Road 18 in the municipality of Portel, Evora district, a civil protection source told Lusa.
A source at the Sub-Regional Office of Emergency and Civil Protection of Central Alentejo said that the alarm about the incident that occurred in the area of Santana was given at 18:26.
The death of the man, who was the only passenger in the car with straw, was confirmed on the spot by the doctor of the ambulance and resuscitation medical vehicle (VMER) in Évora, a source from the sub-regional command said.
The rescue operations involved 17 Portel, National Institute of Emergency Medicine (INEM) and GNR firefighter operators, supported by seven vehicles, including VMER.
