“Temporary protection is provided with the provision of a visa-free regime for a stay of up to six months with the possibility of extension (…) to citizens of Ukraine and their family members who arrived from their country of origin, unable to return, as a result of the military situation there,” the statement says. in the resolution of the Council of Ministers, which also provides for the appointment of “benefits” in cases of citizens who do not have “sufficient funds”.

“However, it is important that there are mechanisms that inspire trust and promptness that allow creating predictability and confidence in the possibilities of our country’s humanitarian response in the current conditions, namely, facilitating the entry and integration of Ukrainian citizens and their families on the national territory,” it also provides decision to grant these citizens temporary protection.
Citizens who “have committed acts contrary to the fundamental interests or sovereignty of Cape Verde”, who have “committed crimes against peace, war crimes or crimes against humanity” or “intentional crimes punishable by law for more than three years”, but also “those who has committed acts contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations.”
