A man died after a wall collapsed due to the bad weather that is being felt in Greece, according to local firefighters. Reuters.
Storm Daniel has been raging across western and central Greece since Monday, flooding homes and roads just a few days after a wildfire in the north of the country that had burned for more than two weeks was brought under control.
“A man died after a wall collapsed near the town of Volos, probably due to bad weather,” a fire official said. Reuters.
According to the Athens news agency, the wall fell when the man, who was a livestock breeder, tried to reach the animals.
A man has gone missing in the city of Volos after the car he was traveling in was swept away by a hurricane, a fire brigade spokesman told Greek television.
“The son got out (from the car), but the father was seized and a search operation is underway,” he added.
