At least 111 people were killed and 230 injured this Monday after an earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale was felt in the Gansu-Qinghai region of China.
Chinese authorities took emergency measures after the earthquake.
Emergency management and fire suppression services were involved in the intervention, according to the United States Geophysical Institute (USGS).
The earthquake struck at 15:59 GMT (the same time as Lisbon) at a depth of ten kilometers, said the US Geological Survey, which initially reported a magnitude of 6, a hundred kilometers southwest of the provincial capital Lanzhu. Several replies followed.
