This Thursday at 12:40 p.m. the SP carried out searches in the parish council of Campolide in Lisbon, the municipal president (PS) confirmed to Lusa, emphasizing that the investigation is related to the leaders preceding the current one.
According to Miguel Belo Márquez, members of the SP carried out searches in the parish council, accompanied by a prosecutor.
The mayor also noted that the searches that will take place this Thursday have nothing to do with the current leader, but with previous leaders.
Miguel Marquez also said that he could not say anything more about the case because it was “a matter of judicial secrecy.”
In a written statement to Lusa, previous parish council president Andre Couto (PS) said he was “absolutely calm” about his “actions as parish council president.”
Andre Couto also added that he is “ready to cooperate with justice.”
In November 2018, newspapers, namely the then Sol and I, reported that the Public Ministry (MP) was investigating the connection of elements of the Campolide parish council with alleged irregularities in the management of parish institutions, namely Externato. Public Education and the António Luis Oliveira Foundation.
