Lilly, an Italian dog, turned 24 on January 1st. Owners believe the animal may be the oldest dog in the world, although Guinness World Records has not awarded it that title.
Italian newspaper, La RepubblicaIt was revealed that Lilly’s family celebrated the dog’s birthday with a cake with the number 112, corresponding to Lilly’s age in humans.
Anna Cutrupi, Lilly’s owner, found her 24 years ago on a road on the Italian island of Sicily, and since then they have always celebrated the dog’s birthday on January 1.
