The project is integrated into the Portugal 2030 program and will be developed in partnership with the municipalities of Loule, Olhão, Faro, the University of the Algarve, ANA Aeroportos and Turismo do Algarve. According to the proposed route, the metrobus line will have 24 stops and connect the center of Loule with the city of Olhão, passing through Faro, Gago Coutinho Airport, two campuses of the University of the Algarve and Parque das Cidades. Construction is due to be completed by 2029 and is estimated to accommodate 40,000 trips per day.
