Olivia, a young woman with strong political ideals who opposes the dictatorship, and Francisco, a boy who dreams of becoming a comedian, meet and fall in love with an amateur theater group that is putting on a musical version of Romeo and Juliet. . This is the starting point for the musical “A Madrugada que Eu Esperava”, which opens this Wednesday. at the Teatro Maria Matos in Lisbon, where singers Carolina Deslandes and Barbara Tinoco participate in songwriting as well as interpretation. The two artists give body (and voice) to the character of Olivia, alternating between the role and that of Clara, her sister.
Written by Hugo Gonçalves and directed by Ricardo da Rocha, the show also stars Brienne Keller, Dinarte Branco, J.P. Costa, João Maria Pinto, Jorge Murato, Jose Lobo, Maria Enrique, Mariana Lencastre and live band. The musical will be on stage in the capital until April 28, and then will be presented on May 30 and 31 at the Coliseu do Porto.
