The Spice Girls took to social media to mark the 30th anniversary of the band’s first audition on March 4, 1994.
“Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Spice Girls’ first audition,” the band shared.
That same year, a group consisting of Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisolm was formed. Heart Management held auditions to create a girl group that could compete with the British boy bands of the time.
Two years after their first audition, the Spice Girls released their first song, “Wannabe.” The song reached the top of several music charts and brought success to the group.
