This Friday, temperatures above 30 degrees were recorded in Minho. The highest reading on Saturday was 29.2 degrees in Viana do Castelo, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere.
At the national level, the highest temperatures on Friday were recorded in Ponte de Lima – 31.5 degrees, Monsan – 30.9 degrees, Braga – 30.8, Vila Verde – 30.8, Amares – 30.6, and also in Barcelos and Vila Nova de Famalicão – 30.4 degrees.
The country’s northernmost region is also marked as the hottest over the past two days, although temperatures above 30 degrees were not reached this Saturday.
However, the unusual heat for this time of year will end this Sunday, with rain forecast for the Alentejo and Algarve.
