Polish carriers left the Yagodin-Dorogusk border post with Ukraine this Monday, three months after the start of the blockade, in protest against benefits for truck drivers and Ukrainian products on the territory of the European Union (EU).
“According to information received from the Border Service of the Republic of Poland, the protest of Polish farmers in front of the Yagodin-Dorogusk checkpoint, which lasted since February 9, has ended,” the Border Service of Ukraine said in a statement. .
As a result, border authorities of both countries have already begun to record the passage of freight transport in both directions.
However, there are still two checkpoints on the border between the two countries where carriers block the passage of trucks.
Polish transport companies have been launching a series of protests at border posts with Ukraine for several months now to protest against the benefits of their Ukrainian colleagues and the goods they export.
Soon after, Ukrainian truck drivers took the same action, demanding continued tariff benefits for their products in the EU.
The situation has reached such a point that Ukrainian and Polish authorities have been in contact in recent weeks to resolve the issue.
Warsaw appealed to truck drivers to lift the blockade, but Kiev felt that not everything had been done to end the situation.
