Argentinean Lionel Messi recorded his second straight game on Saturday with a brace and an assist in the North American Soccer Championship (MLS) in Inter Miami’s 4-1 win at the New England Revolution.
The home side scored first in the first minute through Argentina’s Tomas Chancalay, but the Ballon d’Or winner turned the result around with goals in the 32nd and 68th minutes, assisted by Robert Taylor and Sergio Busquets respectively.
With another double in a 3-1 home win over Nashville, Messi topped the scoring list with nine goals to Colombian Cristian Arango’s (Real Salt Lake) eight.
Miami’s No. 10 was also involved in Inter Miami’s third goal when he fired past Slovakian Henrich Ravas’ defense and Benjamin Kremaschi scored on the rebound in the 83rd minute and ended up with the assist. 4:1 Uruguayan Luis Suarez, 89 years old.
With their third straight victory in the tournament, Tata Martino’s eleven Argentines finished first in the Eastern Conference with 21 points from 11 games to Cincinnati’s 18 from 10 matches played.
