The Amadora Sintra hospital was the subject of a complaint because a breast biopsy was carried out in 2020 and the user only knew the result of the examination – breast cancer – in 2023, leading to the intervention of the health regulator.
The complaint was filed by the user’s granddaughter, who says in the complaint that her grandmother had a breast biopsy in 2020 at the Fernando Fonseca Hospital, now called the Amadora Sintra Local Health Unit, and they only found out “the result after a long search.” On February 13, 2023, during a consultation with her current family doctor, it turned out that she had breast cancer.”
“I complain and wonder if the Amadora Sintra Hospital should not have immediately, after confirming the diagnosis, called the user in for treatment. We all know that these types of diseases can be overcome with timely treatment,” he writes in a complaint published this Thursday in a report on ERS discussions held in the first quarter of this year.
