UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, warned today that the evolution of artificial intelligence could lead to a new wave of Holocaust denial disinformation.
“If we allow the horrific facts of the Holocaust to be blurred, distorted or falsified through the irresponsible use of artificial intelligence, we risk an explosion of anti-Semitism and a gradual erosion of our understanding of the causes and consequences of these atrocities. ” he said. UNESCO’s Audrey Azoulay said in a statement accompanying the report.
A paper published today by UNESCO concludes that artificial intelligence (AI) can generate false and misleading data about the Holocaust “that spreads online” due to software glitches.
